February is often called the month of love. We see the decorations in the lounges, the special couples’ dinners in the dining room, and the romantic ballads added to the setlist. But for the #LimeFam, love goes much deeper than a calendar date.

It’s about the lifelong love story we have with the stage, and the unique bonds we form while living and working at sea.

Loving the Long Run: Beyond the Honeymoon Phase

Every performer knows that electric feeling of a new contract: the fresh costumes, the new stage, and the first time a routine clicks. It’s pure magic! But as the weeks turn into months, and you hit your 50th performance of the same show, that initial spark can be tested.

How do you keep the passion alive when the routine feels … well, routine?

  • Find the New in the Familiar: Challenge yourself to find one tiny detail to improve each night. Maybe it’s a cleaner transition, a more nuanced lyric, or a deeper connection with a specific section of the audience.
  • Remember the Why: Look out into the dark house. For many guests, this is their first time seeing a professional show. Your Tuesday night is their vacation highlight. Seeing the magic through their eyes is the best way to fall in love with your craft all over again.

The Heart of the Ship: Finding Your Work Family

Living at sea means your social circle and your professional circle are one and the same. This February, we’re celebrating the platonic love that makes ship life sustainable.

We’re talking about the castmates who become your work wives and work husbands — the people who know exactly how you take your coffee, who can tell you’re tired just by the way you walk into rehearsal, and who are there to lift you up when you’re feeling homesick. These friendships are the heartbeat of the LimeFam. They turn a contract into a life-changing adventure, and a ship into a home.

Self-Love: Protecting Your Energy

You can’t pour from an empty cup. In an environment where you are constantly “on”—whether atop the stage or simply walking through guest areas — taking time for self-love is essential.

  • Create Your Sanctuary: Even if it’s just 20 minutes with your headphones on in your cabin, find a way to unplug.
  • Celebrate Your Wins: We are often our own toughest critics. This month, take a moment to be proud of how far you’ve come since your very first audition and very first show.

Keep shining, keep loving what you do, and remember—the stage loves you back.

And so do we.
