Hard work is important, but if you practice the wrong things for 10,000 hours, you won’t become an expert. We look for performers who know how to work smart and be resourceful. Whether you’re breaking down a complex rehearsal schedule; managing your charts, staging, and choreography efficiently; or communicating clearly with tech crews under tight deadlines, being savvy means finding what actually works.

It’s about having total clarity on your goals, filtering out the noise, and delivering the right results without compromising quality.

At Lime, we refuse to treat our performers like a barcode. In turn, we look for artists who bring that same empathy on board. Ship life requires a specific kind of “sea legs” — the ability to adapt to living in a floating, close-knit community.

Are you a dancer? Start practicing advanced techniques like tumbling and aerial work. Musician? Learn new repertoire to implement into your show instead of repeating the same set night after night.

We never sit still, and we are never content with “just good enough”. If we’re not improving, what’s the point? We look for artists who are always curious, open to new ways of thinking, humble enough to accept feedback, and proactive about their own development.

Finally, we come to the craft. Whether you’re a musician, dancer, acrobat, comic, or variety act, you must perform at the highest level of your craft and pour your heart and soul into your work. What you do on that stage should completely excite you — life is simply too short for anything less. In cruise entertainment, that passion must be backed by both technical ability and versatility.

  • Musicians: Can you sightread, double, improvise, and play confidently and authentically across multiple styles and genres? Vocalists, are you truly embracing your repertoire and connecting with the audience on each verse and chorus?
  • Dancers: Are you as comfortable with commercial jazz as you are with contemporary? We look for the triple threats who understand the awesome responsibility of changing people’s lives through singing, dancing, and acting.
  • Headliners: Is your act the best it can be? Is it stagnant — using the same old songs and script from years past — or instead, is it ever evolving with newly-honed skills and ideas? In order to catch a supervisor’s eye, our acts have no choice but to be both innovative and thrilling.
